Shek Yue Joe, Joseph

Yan Yin, A Fallen Hero

I am playing "Songoree", listening to your voice in singing while I am typing this tribute in tears - both Jo and I.

We are deeply saddened to learn of your passing, the bad news is so hard to take.

You were a genuine, considerate, friendly and gracious gentleman. A devoted, loving and caring husband and father. A dedicated, knowledgeable and very efficient Scout Leader with visions and superb judgements. These alone had made you earn high respects from relatives, friends, your own 15th HKG and all levels of Hong Kong Scouting. I still remember vividly how we, the 5-Man-Band (you, Chiu On, Shiu, Kiu and myself)worked tirelessly in training courses and the wonderful times we were together. You were well known for your very warm heart. Whoever needed help, they always got it from you, generously and without second thought. I was privileged to have such a great friend.

You fought bravely against the virulent evil. Unfortunately the severe illnesses proved to be too much for you and you left us. Your departure put us all in grief. But it is comforting to know that you are now in a place more peaceful and calm and away from the toil and miseries.

Hermia, we are sure that you remember many happy times together, throughout the glorious years. Yan Yin will stay strong in your minds and hearts. "Love leaves a memory no one can steal". Our caring thoughts will always be with you and your family.

Yan Yin, yes you are gone from our sight but never our memories.

Go in peace my good friend.
